Missing clean air.

Friday, October 19th, 2007

I don’t know what’s going on here, but I am almost certain it’s the London air that’s causing my sickness. Clean air is something people in Canada take for granted; I am certainly missing clean air.

Left work early today cause I felt way too miserable to continue coding at my desk. This morning was totally not pleasant as I tried to keep consciousness in my meeting with the boss. And I was also losing the fight with nausea at my desk. My boss probably knew I wasn’t feeling so good with my shifty eyes and lack of concentration during the code design meeting this morning.

Now, I wonder if people in the “intelligence” department at my company would pick up this entry. I’ve made an active effort to not blog about work cause my page gets hits from the company domain.

*I’ve just realized I didn’t finish the post… yuck, I am tired*

Walking under the Thames

Wednesday, October 10th, 2007

This is my 100th post. The blog was started on April 23, 2006. It has been 535 days since the blog started and on average, I post once 5.35 days. Not bad at all. And oh, many thanks to my readers… I certainly enjoy receiving comments. I hope people would leave more comments.

Today after work, I took a slight detour from my usual route home. Recall a few weekends back that I went clubbing and ended up taking a long taxi ride back…

I took a taxi back to Canary Wharf but I needed to get across the Thames river back into Lewisham. I remembered that there exists a foot tunnel that connects the Isle of Dog (where Canary Wharf is located) and Greenwich (south of the river). This tunnel is open 24 hours a day but it’s not monitored at night. Once I get to Greenwich, I could take a taxi home. Unfortunately that night, it was already 3 am and I wasn’t too excited about wandering around on the Isle of Dog to find the stupid tunnel. Also in hindsight, it was probably not safe to cross the tunnel cause who knows what crazies hang out down there at 3 am.

I say that it’s pretty neat to be crossing the Thames river by foot. Since it was work quitting time, I encountered a lot of bikes in the tunnel. It took about 10 minutes or so to get across and when I got up, I ended up in Greenwich as expected. Notice how miserable the weather is… it’s been like this for the entire week.

That’s all I have for tonight… happy 100 blog posts to me

The weather is going downhill.

Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007

So, it appears that I’ve used up all my good weather credits in the beginning of September. From my colleagues, I hear that from here on, it’s nothing but rain and cold. I am not pleased… I’m going to need more weekend trips to get out of the UK to avoid this stupid weather.
